It must have taken serious talent to mess with this mug the way that its manufacturer did. I really hope that they got their money back for this thing. According to some accounts, the August date is incorrect as well.
Here’s a favorite typo of mine that resides in our own “Typo Hall of Fame.” My brother was completing his Masters at Harvard when he sent this mug to me. He never noticed the typo*, and ironically went on to become… an editor. I’ve cherished it ever since.
*or he got it off the clearance table and didn’t want to admit it…
