We saw this sign at the New Smyrna Beach Wells Fargo bank.  Obviously, this is a violation of subject-verb agreement.

I don’t know if this is exactly incorrect, although I would not have worded it this way. Because the word “Advisors” is capitalized, the implication is that “Wells Fargo Advisors” is a department within the company and hence a singular subject. If it had said Wells Fargo advisors with a lowercase “a”, then it would be obviously wrong.

I agree with Aaron. For example, I would say, “Cars are a type of vehicle,” not, “Cars is a type of vehicle vehicle.” However, in regards to the Disney film ‘Cars’, I would say, “Cars is a good film,” not, “Cars are a good film.”
