I don’t know what the error is here. All I see is the incorrect use of an apostrophe, which is a horrible mistake in itself.
I *think* the alleged error is that in italian, it would be “Salame Milano”, salame being the singular, salami the plural.
But if that’s the supposed error, I wouldn’t even consider it wrong. The product label is in english, not italian, and english has adopted the form “salami” as both singular and plural. I guess somebody could cling to the use of the italian spellings of Milan and Lombardy as a reason to go with “salame”, but the package designer might well have decided that would simply be confusing to english shoppers.
So unless I’m missing something else, I’m going to have to file this one under “lame pedantry”.
